    Transparency & Reporting

This page exists before there is anything impressive to show.
    It will always be accessible.

    It will always be updated.

And it will always prioritize clarity over presentation.

    Why This Page Exists

Most projects introduce transparency after funding exists.
    This page begins before funding.

This page exists so anyone supporting The Way Home can easily:

    • see how funds are being used
    • understand what stage the project is in
    • know what has changed since the last update

    No hype.

    No spin.

    No  hidden information.

    What You Will Find Here

This page will be updated on a regular, predictable schedule.

    Update Rhythm

Updates will be posted within the first week of each month.

    • Monthly updates (primary)
    • Additional updates posted if something material changes

We are choosing monthly updates because:

    • weekly reporting creates noise, not clarity
    • monthly allows meaningful progress to be shown
    • consistency matters more than frequency

    Reporting Format (Simple by Design)

Each update will follow the same structure, every time.

    1. Period Covered

    Example: May 1–31, 2026

    2. Money In

    • Total funds received this period
    • General source categories (individual support, larger contributions)

    (Contributions can be anonymous. )

    3. Money Out

    Funds used for:

    • writing and editorial work
    • website and platform development
    • staff or contractor support (when applicable)
    • legal, accounting, or governance costs

Rounded figures are used for readability.

Expenses are limited to costs directly related to building and maintaining the project.

    4. Work Completed

    A short, plain-language list. Example:

    • Website section X completed
    • Draft of Book Y finished
    • Legal step Z completed

    5. Current Focus

What we are working on next.

    6. What Changed (If Anything)

If plans, timelines, or priorities shifted, they will be stated here — clearly and without justification language.

    What We Will Not Do

To avoid confusion or performative transparency, we will not:

    • publish real-time spending dashboards
    • flood this page with minor updates
    • use reporting as marketing
    • obscure setbacks with optimistic language

If progress is slow, it will be stated plainly.

When There Is Nothing to Report

At the beginning, updates may look very simple.

    That is intentional.

    An update that says:

“No funds received this period. Work continues at a limited pace.”

    …is a valid update.

    Accountability

This page is a standing commitment:

    • it does not disappear when things get hard
    • it does not move behind a login
    • it does not change format to avoid uncomfortable clarity

    Support is voluntary.

    Transparency is not.
